You can now update the game to Ver. 3.1.0.
Update Details
The latest software version is needed to enjoy the following features:
◯ Offline
・ You can use the Toy-Con VR Goggles to enjoy Smash in VR mode via the Games & More menu.
- VR mode is a single-player experience only.
- The Toy-Con VR Goggles are sold separately as part of the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit or the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit - Starter Set + Blaster.
◯ Online
・ FPs can be used in Battle Arenas.
・ An option to send amiibo out on journeys has been added, through which FPs go on a journey to train via the internet. You can find it via Games & More → amiibo → Send on a Journey.
・ Some of the preferred rules for Quickplay battles have been adjusted.
Note: A paid membership to the Nintendo Switch Online service is needed to use these features. Please also see "Notice about Online Play" for more details.
◯ General
・ Game balance adjustments have been made. Please see the official website for details of fixes and changes to fighters.
・ Several issues have been fixed to improve gameplay experience.
Compatibility Issues
・The latest software version is required to enter Online mode.
・Local wireless play is not compatible with Ver. 3.0.1 and earlier. All players who want to fight in local wireless battles need to make sure they have the same software version.
・There may be some compatibility issues with replays from Ver. 3.0.0 and Ver. 3.0.1. Replays from Ver. 2.0.2 and earlier are not compatible. If you want to keep your replays, convert them into videos before installing the update. You can do this via Vault → Replays → Replay Data → Convert to Video.
How to Update
1. Highlight the software on the HOME Menu, and then press the + Button to open the options.
2. Select Software Update, and then either Via the Internet or Match Versions with Local Users.
